What we can do together
When communities come together so many new things may be accomplished. The following are some initial ideas...what ideas do you have?
- Join in Evensong together every three months, hosted each time by a different parish
- Contribute to this web site
- Directory of parishes and clergy in the AFDV
- Share tracts, papers, church school curricula
- Joint training -where possible- of church school teachers, layreaders, catechists, permanent deacons
- Start a publishing company like Preservation Press
- Retreats, quiet days
- Community picnics
- Shared performances, recitals, plays
- Eastertide Evensong with mite box collection and a preacher from the missions
- Sponsoring missionaries and charitable works and clergy or parishes in need
- Covering for clergy vacations and other absences
- Refer people to each parish; grow the community
- In our own parishes, each of us meet with neighboring Roman
Catholic, Orthodox, evangelical and pentecostal clergy, as opportunity
arises
